Datuopu Street

Datuopu street belongs to Tianxin District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is located in Jiefang embankment and is located in the forefront of Zhuzhou Xiangtan city.

The street area is adjacent to the ring expressway in the north, yunnantuo in the south, Jingguang railway in the East and Xiangjiang River in the west, with a total area of 15.12 square kilometers, including 10.86 square kilometers of land area and 8 kilometers of coastline along the river. Under the jurisdiction of Huanghe, Guijing, Xinglong and datuoxin villages, the street has 110 villager groups, with an agricultural population of more than 16000, a floating population of more than 2200, and a crop planting area of more than 8000 mu. It is the only pure rural street without community in Tianxin District.

There are 109 small enterprises and 8 large-scale industrial enterprises in the street area.

The origin of the name

Datuopu is a famous place name with a long history in this area. Datuopu railway station was built in 1911. It was set up in the construction of the earliest Guangdong Han railway. In the 1950s, the famous datuopu airport was built and became an important port for air traffic in Hunan until the beginning of 1990.

Evolution of organizational system

Datuopu street was formerly known as datuoxiang (town). Originally belonging to Changsha County, it was included in the suburb of Changsha City in 1978. In 1996, the city was divided into Tianxin District. in 2012, Tianxin District abolished Datuo town and set up heishipu street, datuopu street and Xianfeng street. Datuopu street has jurisdiction over five villages: Huanghe village, Xinglong Village, Guijing village, Datuo village and Xingang village. in March 2016, Datuo and Xingang merged into Datuo new village.

Founded in 2016, it is a combination of the former Datuo village and Xingang village.
