Xiangkou Street

Xiangkou street is located in the southwest of Hannan District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is adjacent to Dengnan street in the East, Honghu City in the south, Xiantao City and Caidian District across the river in the northwest.

Xiangkou Street covers an area of 51.69km2. Population 15593 (2010). It has jurisdiction over 2 market town communities of Lvyin road and Kangtai Road, 2 rural communities of Hanjiang River and Shuangta, 11 agricultural brigades of Xiangkou, Xindu, Xiangxin, Dahuan, Wuhu, duwan, Jinhong, Luqiao, longgou, Shuangta and Qiaokou. The office is located in Xiangkou.

In 1949, it belonged to Xintan township of Hanyang county. In 1955, it belonged to shuihong Township, Dengnan District, Hanyang County, Qukou Township, Xiaosi district and Shahu Township, Mianyang county. In 1966, the Farm Management Bureau of Dongxihu District of Wuhan city built Hannan farm after reclaiming Hannan embankment. It is named after its location in the south of the Han River. In 1969, Jianghan, Jiang'an, Qiaokou, Qingshan, Wuchang and Hanyang set up May 7th cadre schools in the west of Hannan farm. After the establishment of Hannan agricultural administration bureau in 1978, the "May 7th" cadre schools were abolished one after another, and the lands of duwan and Luqiao brigades and cadre schools of Hannan farm were set aside to establish yinlianhu farm. It is named for its location in the center of yinlian lake. In 2004, yinlianhu office was located in yinlianhu, with a population of 6100 and an area of 23.98 square kilometers. It had jurisdiction over material trading company, duwan brigade, Jinhong brigade, Luqiao brigade, longgou brigade, Shuangta brigade and fish farm. In 2004, Hannan office was located in Xiangkou, with a population of 7800 and an area of 27.69 square kilometers. It had jurisdiction over Lubei, Lunan, Xiangkou brigade, Xindu brigade, Xiangxin brigade and Wuchang brigade Lake brigade, Yiye farm. On March 15, 2005, Xiangkou street was set up, and the office was located in Xiangkou (the farm Department of Hannan farm), which was under the jurisdiction of the former Hannan farm and yinlianhu farm. In 2010, a new immigrant village was built, and in October of the same year, the south to North Water Diversion Project moved in and set up Hanjiang Village (Hanjiang community).
