Changbai Mountain Nature Museum

Changbai Mountain Nature Museum, located in Erdaobaihe Town, Antu County, was built in June 1986 with a construction area of 2600 square meters and a display area of 1800 square meters. Since its establishment in 2006, the management committee has attached great importance to nature protection, scientific research and popular science education, and continuously increased investment. In 2006, the Changbai Mountain Management Committee invested 28 million yuan to build a new Changbai Mountain Nature Museum, covering an area of 10000 square meters, with a building area of 5600 square meters and a display area of about 4000 square meters. It was officially opened on June 19, 2010.

The Changbai Mountain Nature Museum consists of four halls. It displays Changbai Mountain landscape, vertical landscape, natural resources and their history and current situation. It publicizes the significance and role of nature protection for human survival, promotes academic exchanges, popularizes scientific knowledge to tourists, and enhances the appreciation interest. The museum belongs to Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Jilin Province.

The Museum covers an area of more than 2600 square meters and is divided into five exhibition halls.

The ecological Hall shows the distribution of animals and plants in the four vertical plant zones of Changbai Mountain with specimens, charts and photos, which makes visitors experience the scene;

The Department of natural resources not only displays the animal and plant resources of Changbai Mountain, but also has abundant non biological resources such as water conservancy, wind power, mineral resources and tourism;

The general situation of the nature reserve and its protection facilities were introduced comprehensively and systematically by the general office.

The "monster hall" displays the historical records of the "monsters" in Tianchi Lake of Changbai Mountain since the beginning of this century, and the materials of modern people seeing "monsters". Based on these materials, two models of "monsters" are made: one is similar to a long necked dinosaur, and the other is similar to a buffalo. Although the existence of "monsters" has not been confirmed, this exhibition hall can at least increase people's interest in exploring the mysteries of nature.

Erdaobaihe town is the seat of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve Management Bureau. It has a large-scale and rich natural museum. You can have a preliminary knowledge of Changbai Mountain here, and then experience it in the mountains.

"Tianchi monster" is a hot topic. Mountain residents believe that there are "mysterious creatures" in the Tianchi Lake. Many people are looking forward to seeing the real face of "monsters" when they travel to Changbai Mountain. There is a "Legend of monsters" exhibition room in Changbai Mountain Nature Museum, and two "monsters" are modeled according to the description of witnesses.

In the preface hall, a huge mural of Tianchi Lake is displayed in front of people. In the center of the mural, a large sand table of Changbai Mountain is placed, indicating the peaks, valleys and water flow, and showing the demarcation area of 190000 hectares of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve.

The Department of ecology displays many objects, charts and photos, systematically introduces the basic functions and functions of forest ecosystem, and explains the vital relationship between forest, ecological balance and human survival. It also shows the four vertical landscapes of Korean pine broad-leaved forest belt, coniferous forest belt, Yuehua forest belt and alpine tundra belt.

Collection

There are more than 2400 species of plants, nearly 500 species of vertebrates and more than 1000 species of invertebrates in Jilin Changbai Mountain National Nature Reserve, covering an area of 190000 hectares. It is a typical representative of the flora and fauna of the northern half of Eurasia. It was approved to join the international "man and biosphere" protection network in 1980. In order to meet the needs of scientific research, popularization and tourism, the Nature Museum of Changbai Mountain was established in 1986. There are more than 1500 kinds of animal and plant specimens here, accounting for about 60% of the species treasure house of Changbai Mountain. It is also the largest and self-contained nature museum in China, which is dominated by a single region.
