Laojunmiao town

Laojunmiao town has a long history. In the middle of Ming Dynasty, it was the only way from runing mansion to Hankou official road. Due to the increasing flow of people and logistics, the government and the people raised funds to build Laojunmiao here, so it got its name. It is still in use today. In 1987, it was withdrawn from the township to build a town. In 1995, it was named Zhongzhou town by the Provincial Department of construction, and the Provincial Department of civil affairs as the township star of Henan Province.

Geography and topography

Laojunmiao town has a flat terrain, convenient water and land transportation, superior location, fast communication, rich land, water, electricity and labor resources, a certain industrial base, and relatively perfect urban facilities. The town has a total land area of 70.97 square kilometers (in 2017), a cultivated land area of 65000 mu, 14 village committees, a total population of 39877 (in 2017), and a permanent resident population of more than 20000.
