Junmahe town

Junmahe town is located in the north of Xixia County, Henan Province, adjacent to Erlangping town in the East, Shuanglong town in the south, MIPING town in the West and Taiping Town in the north, with a total area of 163.7 square kilometers (2017). The town government is stationed in Mahe village, 45 kilometers away from the county seat. It governs 13 administrative villages, including junmahe, Taizi, tavern, Changtanhe, Lijiazhuang, xiyuku, Baiguo, Houhe, basswood, sunmen, Maoping, dahegang and dufuling. There are 124 villager groups with 17548 people (in 2017). There are five ethnic groups: Han, Hui, Miao, Buyi and Manchu. The population density is 103 people per square kilometer.

Basic introduction

Junmahe town is a deep mountain area with high terrain in the northeast and low terrain in the southwest. It is an irregular rectangle with overlapping mountains, gurgling rivers, high mountains and dense forests, and pleasant natural scenery. The main peaks are niuxinduo, Dengtai mountain, Yangshan mountain, Shuangxing mountain, Shibapan mountain, houshangtian mountain, baishiya mountain and Baizhang mountain. Niuxinduo is the highest mountain with an altitude of 1388.6 meters. The main rivers are laoqiong River and Changtan river. Old stork River enters from sunmen village, passes through five villages of Maoping, dahegang, junmahe and dufuling, and enters Shuanglong Town, with a flow of 11 km. Changtan river is a major tributary of laostork River, and also the longest river in the territory. It reaches Shangkou River in Taiping Town, enters chongpiling village of Taizi Town, and meanders into laostork River from northeast to southwest through 9 villages of Taizi, tavern, Changtan River, Lijiazhuang, xiyuku, Baiguo, Houhe, Tilia and junmahe, with a flow of 35 km. Yu331 line and Junchang highway pass through the territory. 80% of the population of the township live on both sides of the highway, so the traffic is very convenient. The township is a temperate cool humid climate zone, with an average annual temperature of 144 degrees, an average annual precipitation of 929 mm, an average altitude of 510 meters, and a frost free period of 230 days.

evolution

Before 1969, it was subordinate to MIPING district and ERLANGPING district respectively. In June 1969, it was withdrawn from the district and merged into junmahe commune. In December 1983, it was renamed junmahe township.

On July 29, 2020, it was named as the National Health township of 2017-2019 cycle by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
