Dengwan Township

Dengwan township is located 23 kilometers southwest of Huaibin County. It is adjacent to Huangchuan County and Zhangzhuang Township in the south, wulonggang in the East and Taitou Township in the East, Dengzhao road in the north and Xinfu highway in the north, Maji town and Luji Township in the West and North, Huaihe River in the south, Huaihe River Bridge of Beijing Kowloon railway passing through. It is the hometown of folk culture and art in Henan Province. The famous Yuanjia banqu troupe in southern Henan Province has won the honorary titles of health Township in Henan Province and national civilized township.

Dengwan village governs 13 administrative villages: dengwan village, zhangzitang village, chentai village, Xiaoji village, Luoying village, xumen village, Yetai village, Wangtai village, Wangzhai village, Xinzhai village, fanwei village, Longgang Village and Zhaodian village.

Labor export

The township has developed transportation, with shuttle buses to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Xiaoshan. It exports 3900 migrant workers annually, with a labor income of nearly 70 million yuan. Migrant workers are the main source of income for local people. Dengwan peanut is exported to Guangdong, Hong Kong and other places, is the surrounding township peanut distribution center.

Historical evolution

It belonged to Maji District in 1949 and Maji commune in 1958.

Dengwan commune was established in 1960 and Luji commune in 1962.

Dengwan commune was established in 1974 and changed to township in 1983.

In 1997, it covers an area of 51.3 square kilometers and has a population of 28000. It governs 13 administrative villages, including dengwan, Wangzhai and xumen.

Agriculture

The main crops are wheat, rice, corn, peanuts and so on. The main vegetables are tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans and so on. They are basically produced and sold by themselves, but few of them go abroad. Breeding: there are more pig farms and a few chicken farms. At present, the main medicinal plant is Ranunculus ternatus.
