history

The collection of books in Peiqiao town is the place where general Peng Xuefeng led his troops to sell horses and buy grain. There is a historical site in the shenwangzhuang formation of Qiaozhuang village. It is said that the famous Sanguan temple is located here. According to the old man's recollection, in the early days of the liberation, there were many monks and abbots here. Peiqiao town is the largest watermelon production base in Eastern Henan, with a planting area of more than 50000 mu. Garlic, medicinal materials, cotton and other leading economic crops have become the pillar industries of Peiqiao economic development. Since 1999, township enterprises have developed rapidly. It has formed an enterprise group with flour group as the leader and coordinated development of township enterprises such as multi-purpose furnace manufacturing, Flammulina velutipes production, canned processing and plastic particle paperboard production. Peiqiao town is the largest commodity grain production base in Yongcheng city. In the past two years, we have made great efforts to implement the strategy of increasing farmers' income, focusing on the development of five leading products: watermelon, cotton, garlic, medicinal materials and potatoes. Among them, the area of key agricultural products represented by high-quality seedless watermelon has reached more than 60000 mu, with an annual output value of 90 million yuan. Peiqiao garlic has a long history of planting, excellent varieties, garlic moss, dried garlic, garlic oil and other products are favored by domestic and foreign merchants, with an annual output value of 40 million yuan.
