Xiantang town

Xiantang town is the seat of Dongyuan County, 9 kilometers northeast of Heyuan City, 114 ° 42 ′ E and 23 ° 44 ′ n, adjacent to Yihe town in the East, Yuancheng District in the southwest and Xiawei of Dengta town in the north. With a total area of 162.62 square kilometers (2017), it has 13 village (neighborhood) committees and a total population of 57551 (2017). It is a semi hilly area with high terrain in the northeast and low terrain in the southwest. Xiantang town has convenient water and land transportation. Beijing Kowloon Railway, national highway 205, Dongjiang River, Heyi highway, Helong highway under construction, Guangdong Jiangxi Expressway and other "six dragons" run through the whole town from south to north, with Xiantang railway freight station. Evolution of organizational system

In the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, Xiantang belonged to guyunyue and Hexi of Heyuan. After the founding of new China, it belonged to Dongpu District Office and was changed to Xiantang town in 1986.

Xiantang middle school, the first municipal middle school in Dongyuan County, has 1100 students and 92 teaching staff. There are 15 primary schools with 2516 students and 133 teachers. Dongjiangyuan hot spring resort is located in Xiantang town. The project is located in hot water village and Hexi village of Xiantang town. Economics

In 2004, the town's GDP reached 650 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.6%. Among them, the output value of the primary industry was 50.27 million yuan, an increase of 5.2% over the same period of last year, the output value of the secondary industry was 490 million yuan, an increase of 52.2% over the same period of last year, and the output value of the tertiary industry was 110 million yuan, an increase of 7.55% over the same period of last year. There are 88 industrial enterprises in the town area, involving bamboo products processing, food production and processing, high-tech hard alloy production, ceramic crafts production, plastic products, building materials, terrazzo production, casting, etc. In 1998, Xiantang town built Xiantang Industrial Park, the first foreign-funded demonstration site in Dongyuan County, and 22 foreign-funded enterprises have settled in the industrial park.
