Kongzhuang Township

Kongzhuang is located in the eastern plain of Henan Province, 20 kilometers east of Xiayi County in Henan Province, adjacent to huodian Township in the southeast, handaokou town in the northeast, Taiping Town in the West and Beizhen Township in the south. It has developed transportation, simple folk customs, good at creation, long history and outstanding people. The township covers an area of 73.96 square kilometers.

Evolution of organizational system

Kongzhuang district was established in the early days of the people's Republic of China. The commune was established in 1958 and the township was changed in 1984.

Kongzhuang township has made great efforts to develop township enterprises and invested in factories with fruit tree income. There are water hose factory, phosphate fertilizer factory, pesticide factory, wine factory, bone granule factory, carton factory, food processing factory, plastic granule factory, glass fiber factory, passenger transport company, fur processing factory, six flour factories and two chemical factories. It is a science and technology demonstration town in Henan Province and a special reform experimental town in Shangqiu area.

Kongzhuang township is rich in light, heat, water and other natural resources, flat terrain, fertile land, rich in apples, pears, wheat, corn and small grains, fruit trees area of 42000 mu, crisp and delicious pear produced, fine quality without residue, almost comparable with Dangshan pear. There are more than 10 new varieties of apple, such as non-toxic Red Fuji, new red star, love Ji, red general, Hokkaido, Huaguan, new world, American No. 8, etc. the apple has good coloring, crisp, juicy, sour and sweet flavor. In 1999, it was designated as the national high-quality apple production base by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Apple and pear sell well in Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Fujian, Nantong and other 14 provinces and cities. In order to provide a good environment for fruit trade, the township has built six fruit wholesale markets, guest houses, canteens, offices of public security, taxation, industrial and commercial units, and established fruit sales quality supervision organizations to strictly control the commodity fruits provided by fruit farmers, so as to safeguard the interests of customers. There are cold storage, storage cellar, so that customers can buy fresh fruit all year round.
