Dianji Township

Dianji township is located in the southwest of Yucheng County, Henan Province. It is adjacent to Suiyang District in the West and Shaji Township in the south. The township government is stationed in Dianji, 19 kilometers away from the county. It is said that Han Xin, a famous general of the Han Dynasty, led soldiers to fight in this area to rest and recuperate. Therefore, it is called "hanxindian", later referred to as Dianji. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Cao Zhongping, a peasant, once gathered here to revolt.

Evolution of organizational system

Originally Shangqiu County, in 1951 from Shangqiu County under Gushu County, set up shop area. In 1954, it was merged into Yucheng County, which was still a district. In 1956, it was changed into a township. In 1958, it belonged to Gushu people's commune. In 1965, it was established as Dianji people's commune, and in 1983, it was changed into a township.

Regional scale

With a total area of 49.3 square kilometers (2017), it has jurisdiction over 30 administrative villages, 88 natural villages, a population of 45015 people (2017), and 49850 mu of cultivated land. Dianji township has a flat terrain, high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an average altitude of 45.2 meters. The soil is mainly sandy, with silt in the South and sandy alkali in the East. There is a nursing home for the elderly, which arranges the five guarantees to support 40 people. There are 10 departments directly under the township government. Dianji meets guhui on a single day of the lunar calendar, on March 19, November 11 and December 11. Weigudui meets guhui on a double day. Every year, it meets guhui on February 2, April 8, September 9 and the beginning of the lunar month, and meets dongxinmiao and Huilong on a double day. Since 1986, the grain structure of the township has been continuously optimized. In 2006, the total grain output of the township was 29763 tons, with an average yield of 480 kg. 2. Economic crops: yam, watermelon, peanut, soybean, cotton and other economic crops are traditionally planted in the township. Since the 1980s, the township has implemented the strategy of "prospering the township with science and technology and enriching the people with characteristic industries". The township has formed a new industrial structure adjustment pattern of "Eastern yam, Western melon, seize the characteristics of development". Agricultural production has realized "structure optimization", "variety innovation" and "benefit enhancement". It has formed 3000 mu pollution-free yam production base and 10000 mu watermelon production base, and only gift watermelon has developed to 1000 mu. After the introduction of reflective film technology and bagging technology in apple production, the benefit per mu increased by more than 800 yuan. After greenhouse cultivation and seedling hanging management, the income of gift watermelon reached 15000 yuan per mu. The total cotton output of the township is 1447.8 tons. The total oil production is 210 tons. 3. Animal husbandry: there are 6 breeding villages and 1 breeding community. Six improvement stations for Boer goat and improved breed beef cattle have been established, and 15 animal husbandry clinics have been set up in the township to strengthen animal epidemic prevention and control. In 2005, the total output of meat in the township was 2668 tons, and that of eggs was 545 tons. In 2006, the total output of meat in the township reached 3895 tons, and that of eggs was 683 tons. 4. Enterprises: the township's private enterprises have developed rapidly, initially forming such advantageous industries as grain and oil processing, seasoning processing, building materials processing, wine making, metal casting, briquette production, arts and crafts, wood processing, bedding, kiln industry, breeding, etc., with more than 180 industrial enterprises. Dianji, weigudui, dongxinmiao, Huilong town's four major industrial and trade zones are showing a good momentum of development. 5. Finance and income: the financial revenue of the township increased steadily. In 2006, the total social output value of the township reached 420 million yuan, including 360 million yuan of industrial and agricultural output value and 2937 yuan of per capita net income of farmers.

Beijing Kowloon railway runs through the whole territory, with Yiyin station and freight yard in full operation. It is adjacent to yu325 provincial road in the north, Lianhuo Expressway in the west, national highway 105 in the west, and Yuying highway passing through the production area of "Huilou yam". The township road has a total distance of 59 kilometers, realizing the administrative village oil road. There are more than 1800 agricultural vehicles, more than 20 large-scale transport vehicles, 56 harvesters and 46 passenger cars in the township. The Baohe river runs through the whole area, the South Huimin Valley winds in the East, and the Caihe river passes through the southwest. There are 21 primary and secondary schools in the township, including 3 middle schools, 18 primary schools, 420 teaching staff and 6 kindergartens. Tourist attractions

Yiyin temple, the burial place of Yiyin, the Prime Minister of Shang Dynasty who was born as a slave, is located at the north end of weigudui village, Dianji township. It is a key cultural relic under provincial protection. Yiyin cemetery, a famous tourist attraction, has Yiyin temple, yuanshenglin, huaxilou and other scenic spots. Wei Zheng tomb is located in the east of the village, which is one of the tourist attractions in our province. According to the Yuan Dynasty stele records, "Yi tomb is tens of acres wide. There is an ancestral hall in front of the tomb. The ancestral hall has its image, and there are several tombstones beside the image.". Later, it was rebuilt in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Huilou yam

Huilou yam, a famous local specialty in Eastern Henan, has been cultivated for 400 years in Dianji township. It is said that it was a tribute in the Ming Dynasty. The planting area was 50 mu at the end of the Republic of China. Huilou yam, the township's agricultural product, registered the trademark of "Huishan" in 2001, won the gold award of the first Agricultural Expo in Shangqiu, China in 2002, was recognized as the origin of pollution-free agricultural products by the provincial government in 2003, and was rated as one of the top ten famous agricultural product production bases by Shangqiu City, and passed the certification of pollution-free agricultural product origin by the Ministry of agriculture in 2004.
