Xizhang Village

Xizhang village is located in the south of Shanzhou District, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It is 20km away from Sanmenxia City, connecting Caiyuan Township in the East, zhangbian Township in the west, Yadi street and Jiaokou Township in Hubin District in the north, and Shangge Township in Luoning County in the south. Historical evolution

It got its name from the town government in Zhangcun. According to legend, the village was named Zhang village because the first resident was Zhang. In 1982, the place name was changed to Xizhang village because of the same name as Zhangcun commune (now Zhangcun town), Mianchi County. During the period of the Republic of China, it was once called Zhangcun town. Zhangcun district was set up in 1949; Zhangcun people's commune was established in 1958; it was changed to Zhangcun District in 1961, with six communes under its jurisdiction, namely Renma, miaowa, Donggou, Shuibian, Potou and Zhangcun; Zhangcun commune was renamed in 1962, and Wangcun commune was designated; Wangcun commune was merged in 1965; Yicun commune was designated in 1971; Xizhang commune was renamed in 1982; and it was changed to township in early 1984.
