Lianhua town

Lianhua town is located in the north of Jiande City. Its peak is as strong as lotus, so it is called Lianhua town. The total administrative area of the town is 86.12 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 6 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 10192. With green water, green mountains and overlapping peaks, the forest coverage rate is as high as 86%, and the natural environment is beautiful. Two national scenic spots, Qiandao Lake and Xin'anjiang, are nestled together. Lianhua town is located in the middle of Hangzhou Qiandao Lake Huangshan golden tourist line, adjacent to xiaya town in the East, Xin'anjiang street in the south, and Danzhu Township and Fuwen Township in Chun'an County in the northwest. Provincial Highway 303 runs through Jiande City, 16 kilometers away from Xin'anjiang street and 36 kilometers away from Qiandaohu town.

History of construction

There is a peak in the territory, which looks like a lotus, so it is called Lianhua peak. The earth is named after the mountain. In 1949, Lianhua township was established. In 1958, it was the Lotus management area of Yangxi commune. In 1960, it expanded the scale of the commune and became the Lotus management area of Xin'anjiang commune. In 1961, the scale of the commune was adjusted and the lotus commune was set up in the Lotus management area. In 1983, Lianhua township was established. In September 1994, Lianhua town was established. In 1982, the household contract system was implemented. The township cable TV station was built in 1993 and connected with Jiande cable TV station in 1997. In 1993, Guo Village installed tap water; by 1998, all villages in the town had used tap water. From 1994 to 1996, it invested 800000 yuan to build a 700 meter long and 20 meter wide Lotus Street. In 1995, the program-controlled telephone was fully opened; in 1996, it was listed as the first batch of well-off towns in Hangzhou; in 1998, the reconstruction project of Jianchun highway was completed.

Industrial economy

In 2003, the total industrial output value of the town reached 514 million yuan. It is one of the important calcium carbonate bases in Jiande City and enjoys the reputation of "hometown of masterbatch". The masterbatch developed by Jiande Shengli Plastic Chemical Co., Ltd., a key enterprise in the town, is exported to Western Europe and other countries and regions. Lianhua town has set up an industrial gathering point covering an area of 298 mu, with complete infrastructure and many enterprises settled in. It is an ideal place for investment and entrepreneurship.

Agriculture is mainly poultry, flowers, seedlings, tea, vegetables and so on. It is one of the top ten animal husbandry towns in Hangzhou. The number of laying hens in the town has reached 1 million, accounting for one third of the total amount of laying hens in the city, with an output value of more than 14 million yuan. It is the base of pollution-free egg products in Zhejiang Province and the urban agricultural egg base in Hangzhou. Dendrobium officinale planted by Lianhua Town Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. has been successfully planted. The Dendrobium officinale base has developed to 30 mu, with an accumulated investment of more than 2 million yuan. The base is one of the experimental bases of Zhejiang University. In 2003, Lianhua town won the first prize of agricultural economic development in Jiande City. Lianhua town has been rated as the advanced unit of comprehensive management of social security in Hangzhou for two consecutive years, the first batch of "safe towns" in Hangzhou, and the "best market town" in Jiande City for three consecutive years.
