Shanhuo Hui Nationality Village

Shanhuo Hui nationality township is located in the Northeast suburb of Yuzhou City, Henan Province. It is adjacent to Gucheng town and Guolian town in the northwest, Jianan District of Xuchang City and Changge City in the East and North, respectively. As Shiliang river passes through the territory, goods from the western mountainous areas often flow downstream since ancient times. It became a distribution center, named Shanhuo factory, and later named Shanhuo.

In 1951, "shanhuochang Hui Autonomous Region" was established. In 1956, it was changed into "shanhuochang Hui nationality township" according to the constitution. In 1958, the Hui nationality township was abolished and incorporated into the people's commune. In December 1984, Shanhuo Hui Township was restored, with jurisdiction over six villages including Shanhuo, louchen, Quandian, leizhuang, Qizhuang and Luzhuang. The township covers an area of 12 square kilometers, including 11990 mu of cultivated land and 12448 people (2017).
