Shangji town

Shangji town is subordinate to Jian'an district. It is located 6 kilometers north of Xuchang City, the ancient capital of Han and Wei dynasties. It is known as the north gate of Xuchang city. National Highway 107, Beijing Shenzhen Expressway and Xukai highway run through the whole area. The west east gas transmission project passes through the area. It is 40 kilometers north of Zhengzhou International Airport, with convenient transportation and obvious location advantages. The town governs 6 neighborhood committees, 20 administrative villages, 56 natural villages and 156 villager groups, with a total population of 35574 (in 2017) and a total area of 22.57 square kilometers (in 2017).

Historical evolution

According to the records of Fengfeng Temple stele in the 22nd year of Jiaqing (1817), it was called Deli town in the Ming Dynasty; since the Xianfeng year of the Qing Dynasty (1851), Li Baiyuan, a villager, led the construction of the village, moved the Chenji village of WanDian to the north, and the business was prosperous. Because of his family name, it was called shangjiaji and Shangji village; it was called Shangji village in the Republic of China. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was called the fourth district. It was called Shangji commune in 1958, Shangji District in 1961, Shangji commune in 1965, Shangji Township in 1984, and town in 1988.

physical geography

Shangji town has superior natural conditions, four distinct seasons, mild climate and rich products. Qingshu River crosses the western boundary; Xiaohong river flows from the northeast of Zhouzhai village to the southeast and from the east of Zhenzhuang village, with a length of about 10 km. It belongs to seasonal river and its soil is all fluvo aquic soil.

socioeconomic

It is rich in wheat, corn, etc., and develops 12000 mu of vegetable cultivation. Potatoes and scallions are exported to other provinces. Zhennong science farm is an experimental demonstration base of key agricultural projects in Henan Province. It has introduced 10 agricultural high-tech projects and cultivated 125 demonstration varieties of flowers, high-quality tobacco, famous and special new fruits, and seed breeding. It plays an active leading role in promoting the adjustment of agricultural structure and increasing farmers' income.

Honorary title

Since 1998, it has been named as "famous town in Zhongzhou", "pilot town of comprehensive reform of small town construction in Xuchang City", "key town of small town construction in Henan Province", "national small town construction demonstration town" and "National East West cooperation demonstration zone for township enterprises".

infrastructure

Shangji town has complete infrastructure functions. The planning area of the industrial park is 8 square kilometers, and 96 million yuan has been invested in infrastructure construction. Now it has realized "four links and one leveling" within 5 square kilometers. Every village in the town has access to Baiyou Road, telephone and cable TV. Convenient mail and communication, sufficient power supply, a 110kV substation, complete educational and cultural facilities, excellent medical and health conditions, provide a good social environment for residents and merchants.
