Xitao town is located in the west of Wuzhi County, on the Bank of Huangqin River, with a total area of 36.74 square kilometers (2017), and has jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages with 45983 people (2017). 34000 mu of arable land. Administrative scope

Xitao town is located in the west of Wuzhi county. The built-up area of the town is 3.1 square kilometers, with a population of 15600. In 2006, it has jurisdiction over 22 village committees: Xitao village, Zhoujiazhuang village, Guozhuang village, xibaishui village, nandongtao village, donghuafeng village, zhongdongtao village, Beiyang village, Nanyang Village, jiaoxiepu Village (Yangzhuang), Gucheng village, dongzhangji village, Gufan village, xiaonanzhang village, Wangshun village, dananzhang village, Tao Village, dongbaishui village, Shijing village, Zhangwu village, beidongtao village, xishuafeng village. Historical evolution

It got its name from the Township People's Government in Xitao. In 1948, it belonged to the second district; in 1955, it belonged to the eight townships of Dongtao, Xitao, Huafeng, Baishui, Wangshun, Zhoujiazhuang, Beiyang and Guozhuang; in early 1958, it merged into Xitao Township and was changed into Xitao people's commune in the same year; in 1983, it was changed into Xitao township; in 1999, it was withdrawn from township and built into town.

Characteristic agricultural products

Xitao town is one of the four famous bases of Huaiyao (Dioscorea opposita, Rehmannia glutinosa, chrysanthemum and Achyranthes bidentata). Among them, the Achyranthes bidentata produced in Xitao town is the best, which can be seen in all kinds of literature.

The local environment has four distinct seasons. The main grain products are wheat and corn, and the cash crops are peanut, rape, sweet potato, tobacco, etc.

Industrial Development

Shenqi industrial zone and Xihuafeng Industrial Zone, covering an area of 1.8 square kilometers, have 120 secondary and tertiary industrial projects. In 2002, there were 10 new and under construction projects in the town, including 4 projects with an investment of more than 1 million yuan. Five private economic belts, namely Beiyang, Gucheng, Baishui, Wangshun and Zhoujiazhuang, have been built.
