Shaoxing Park

Shaoxing Park covers an area of 2411 square meters. It was built and opened in May 1951. Main attractions: vestibule area - gate wall courtyard with tree shade, natural picture like mountain and stone wall scenery, deep rock and gully "Tianqu" cave, ethereal and beautiful tea house, etc.; atrium area - dignified and stubborn Lake rock rockery, cliff cascade like Henghuo, Chengbi lake water of qumou River and sea, "Yunyou", "Xinyi" gate and wall, fitness Road, etc.; backcourt area - bamboo imitation shaped with passing Gallery Pavilion, graceful Cangpo Gangfu forest path, etc.

Development history

In the spring of 1950, with the approval of the Municipal People's government, the park was built in May 1951 and opened on the 28th of that month. The park was named Shaoxing Road Children's Park. It was renamed Shaoxing Park in 1969 and Shaoxing children's Park in 1970.

In 1970, due to the construction of underground air defense works in the park, the park was closed. It was recovered in early December 1975 and reopened in the same month after slight renovation by Luwan District Garden Management Office. From 1983 to 1985, some projects were successively invested in new construction and reconstruction. In 1998, Luwan District People's government and Luwan Garden Management Office jointly invested in the reconstruction of the park, which started in July of the same year and was completed before the Spring Festival in 1999.

Main attractions

The main scenic spots of the park are: the vestibule area, a small courtyard with a tree lined gate, a natural picture like landscape of mountain and stone walls, a deep and secluded "Tianqu" cave, an ethereal and beautiful teahouse, etc. Atrium area: there are dignified and obstinate rockeries, steep waterfalls like Henghuo, clear water in the river and sea, Jingmen and Jingqiang, fitness Road, etc. Houting District: there are bamboo corridor pavilions, Gangfu forest path and so on.

Shaoxing Park was named "double excellent" Park in Shanghai in 2000.
