Xiyi Gorge

Xiyi gorge is located in Huayin County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. Originally called Zhang Chaogu, Xiyi gorge was later named "Xiyi gorge" after the death of Chen Tuan because Chen Tuan was buried in this place without bones. On the side of the gorge, there is a huge rectangular stone called "stone chisel". Chen Tuan ordered his disciple Jia Desheng to dig it.

There is also a wonderful legend about this stone chisel. After Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty gave Chen Tuan "Mr. Xiyi", he lived in Yuntai temple at the foot of Huashan Mountain all day, "and he belonged to it for several months". In the second year of Duangong (989), he said to his disciple Jia Desheng one day: "you can chisel a stone into a room in zhangchaogu. I'll have a rest." After the stone chamber was chiseled, Chen Tuan wrote a few words in his hand, which indicated that Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty said: "Chen Tuan's great number has an end, the holy Dynasty is unforgettable, and it has been shaped in Zhang Chaogu under the lotus peak on the 22nd of this month.". Sure enough, it passed as scheduled. Within seven days after his death, Xi Yi's body was still warm, with five colored clouds blocking his mouth. The moon did not disperse, and there was a fragrance floating out. The words "Yunxia cave" and "Yunshu Shengxiang" on the boulders in the river are based on this legend. In the old days, a temple was built beside the Xiyi gorge, and a statue of Chen Tuan was made. This is the earliest Xiyi ancestral hall, and the Xiyi ancestral hall in Yuquan courtyard was moved and built from this.

From the west of Xiyi gorge, there are huge stones blocking the way. Among them, two stone frames are in the air, which only allows two people to pass through. This is the famous second pass in the Valley Road - Shimen. In the valley, the tourists turn left and right. Their vision is always blocked by the mountains, but they are eager to win the main peak. They can't wait. It's like being closed by a door. After crossing the stone gate, you can see three peaks in the sky, clouds around the cliff, and waterfalls flying down. In addition, the cliffs on both sides are engraved with such words as "Tian Kai Hua Tu", "Zhong Tian Ji Cui" and "Xi Qin Sheng Ji Mu", which lead people's artistic conception to a new world.
