Xilin temple in Neijiang

Xilin temple is located on the North Bank of Dongtong road in the suburb of Neijiang temple. According to Neijiang county annals, Xilin temple was built in 1267 a.d. by Dong Qicheng. In the 13th year of Hongwu reign of Ming Dynasty, the monk Changci rebuilt the temple. During the Jiajing period, the monk continued to use it and participated in politics. Liu Xiang invited more than 80 local officials to donate money to expand it. It took 40 years to build SHANGXIA Xilin temple. The mountains are full of green pines, overlooking the river. There are lots of water and interesting scenery. The sun is just rising, and the shadow is bathed in the golden waves. It is prosperous with Donglin temple. Scholars and scholars have always visited here and left many poems and Fu. In the late Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt by Huofan in the years of Qingkang and Yong (1716-1735). In the third year of Jiaqing, Seng ciyue added velvet. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the bronze Buddha statues and main materials in the temple were destroyed.

In the 27th year of the Republic of China, Kaishan nun, Shi Yuanhui, was a devout Buddhist, set up Buddhism, led the public to smoke and cultivate, and paid equal attention to agriculture and Zen. At one time, he gathered many disciples, surrounded by cigarettes, and Buddhism became popular.

During the "Cultural Revolution", all the Buddhist statues, cultural relics and scriptures in the temple were destroyed, and the temple property was occupied and looted. In 1973, in order to develop the tourist area, Xilin Park occupied the green land around the temple and part of the temple property. In 1982, the party's religious policy was implemented, and the Buddha Day revived. The relevant departments held meetings to solve the financial problem between Xilin Park and the temple After the meeting, Xilin Park paid RMB 10000 to the temple and returned some temple products.
