Xiaoqi Township

Xiaoqi township is located in Baofeng County, Henan Province, next to the north of Baofeng county. The township government is 4km away from the county. The neighboring towns are Chengguan town in the south, Zhouzhuang Town in the southeast, Shiqiao Town in the East, Zhaozhuang town in the north and Shangjiuwu town in the west, with a total area of 63.82 square kilometers and a total population of 39647 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 25 administrative villages, 63 natural villages and 164 villager groups. In 1998, Mr. Cui Qi, a Chinese American who won the Nobel Prize in physics, was born in Fanzhuang village.

In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

Historical evolution

Xiaoqi commune was established in 1965 and changed to township in 1983. In 1997, with an area of 63.2 square kilometers and a population of 32000, it has jurisdiction over 25 administrative villages including xiaoqiying, sanliying, Shiying, qiliying, Hanzhuang, fangqiying, tuqiaopu, Peili, Panzhuang, Yuanzhuang, Jiezhuang, zhangwuzhuang, shiduwa, ZhuWa, dabaizhuang, Wulitou, cishiling, Heling, Zaozhuang, xilingwan, Fanzhai, daqiaozhuang, dongdingling, Luzhuang and chaizhuang.

Industrial Organization

The agricultural industrialization of the township has developed rapidly. By 2009, it has basically formed the leading industries focusing on animal husbandry, such as edible fungi planting, greenhouse and vegetable planting, forest and fruit planting, sweet potato oil planting, bean curd and bean sprout processing. The township has 1 pollution-free breeding Park certified by Henan Province, 2 breeding enterprises with more than 10000 heads; 18 professional villages, 165 professional farms, 910 specialized households; 31000 live pigs, 196000 poultry, 17600 cattle and sheep. Livestock products are sold to Guangdong, Shanghai and other places. 12 million bags of edible fungi were planted. The territory has formed ten thousand mu of sweet potato, ten thousand mu of high-quality wheat, ten thousand mu of tobacco, ten thousand mu of small grains planting base.

Infrastructure

The rural area has sound infrastructure, superior natural conditions and good investment environment. First, convenient transportation, extending in all directions. There are Pinglin expressway, pingru Road, Nanshi line and other national and provincial roads. County and township roads are also very developed. Since 2002, more than 60 kilometers of cement roads have been built in the township, realizing the goal of "connecting every village".
