Sumu Township
Sumu township is located in the middle of Qi County, covering an area of 49.89 square kilometers. It governs 42 natural villages, which are divided into 27 villager committees and 166 villager groups, with a total population of 42096 (2017). It is 12.5km away from the county in the north, 70km away from Xinzheng airport in the west, 55km away from Beijing Kowloon Railway and Shangqiu City in the East, and 40km away from Kaifeng, the ancient capital. Chaoqi local railway dominates the countryside, and Qixian town highway runs through the north and south. Historical sites include the tomb site of Xia Houdun, the great general of the Wei Dynasty in the Three Kingdoms in sunlukou village.

Historical evolution
Sumu township was established in 1951, the commune was established in 1975, and the township was changed in 1983. In 1997, it covers an area of 48.5 square kilometers and has a population of 43000. It has jurisdiction over 26 administrative villages including Sumu, taotun, Xiangang, Dengquan, liuwutun, Gaozhuang, Chenzhai, Mafang, Liuzhuang, linzhai, sikeliu, Hetaoyuan, Maogang, indigo pool, sunlukou, liuhuangzhuang, Zhuzhuang, Xuezhuang, Yanying, qizhai, sitougang, Ligang, huahuzhai, Xudian, zouzhai and Baitun.

Sumu agriculture
The economy of Sumu is dominated by agriculture. The annual output is 10846 tons of wheat, 6500 tons of corn, 620 tons of cotton, 17600 mu of other vegetables, 646 mu of fruit trees, 272 tons of fruits, and apples account for 88% of the total output of fruits. Sumu is now well-known for its rich garlic production, with an annual planting area of more than 30000 Mu and an annual output of 32000 tons of garlic. The garlic produced is famous for its thin skin, thick meat, good taste, pure color and beautiful appearance. most of the "supermarket garlic" and "gift garlic" in the international market come from Sumu. There are more than 500 shops in the garlic trading market, with an annual output of 110000 tons and a transaction volume of 120 million yuan. It has become one of the four major garlic distribution centers in China, and "the top ten townships (towns) of garlic industry in China" is known as "the hometown of garlic". The 30 refrigerated warehouses with an investment of 18 million yuan can keep 28000 tons of garlic fresh. The 22 garlic slices processing plants built can further process 2000 tons of garlic, with an annual output of more than 500 tons of high-quality garlic slices.

At the end of the year, there were 2174 large sex animals in stock, accounting for 84.5%, most of which were beef cattle, 12042 small domestic animals, and 10106 sheep (97.90%). There are 78767 poultry, accounting for 98.90% of the total. The livestock products are meat, eggs and leather. The annual output is 830 tons of meat, accounting for 87% of pork, 314 tons of eggs, 9046 pieces of cattle, sheep and pig skins, and 89.70% of sheep skins.

The annual output value is 41.1 million yuan, the total income is 1.86 million yuan, the profits and taxes are 2.2974 million yuan, and the total value of fixed assets is 3.77 million yuan. the construction of small towns has begun to take shape, with 2.5km development along both sides of Henan 04 Provincial Road (s325), halls, shops, buildings, courtyards, and libraries, and wide streets.
