Chaanling town is located in Chibi City, Hubei Province, with an area of 87.7 square kilometers (2017), a town area of 2 square kilometers, and a total population of 16803 (2017). The total cultivated land area of the town is 27000 mu, and the mountain forest area is 80000 mu. It is the seat of the central county Party committee of Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi during the second Civil Revolutionary War. In early 2002, it was determined by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government as one of the 100 key poverty alleviation and development towns in the province and one of the old working towns in the province.

The town government is located in cha'anling. It has jurisdiction over nine village committees: Luofeng, Yuntai Mountain, Wenquan, Xiashan, bawangmiao, Baishi, Jinfeng, xiaohuling and Qingshiqiao. after the combination of villages in 2004, the town has 9 villages and 89 villager groups. There are police station, finance and Economics Office, soil management office, post office, telecommunication office, health center, substation, forestry station, family planning service center, agricultural technology service center, animal husbandry service center, sports service center, radio and Television Service Center, etc.

Transportation

Chaanling town is rich in resources and convenient transportation. It is located in the south of Chibi City, 100km north from Wuhan and 60km south from Yueyang. Beijing Guangzhou railway, 107 National Road, Beijing Zhuhai Expressway pass through the town, and Wuhan Guangzhou high speed passenger dedicated line. Beijing Guangzhou railway, with cha'anling station, was built in 1917 under the jurisdiction of Changsha Railway Corporation of Guangzhou Railway (Group) Corporation. It's a fourth-class station. Passenger transport: passenger boarding and alighting; luggage and parcel check-in. Freight: handle the whole vehicle goods delivery. Wuhan Guangzhou high speed passenger dedicated line opened in 2010.

Economic situation

By the end of 2006, the total output value of industry and agriculture in the town reached 410 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20%; the fiscal revenue reached 4.15 million yuan, a record increase; the average net income of rural people reached 3280 yuan, an increase of 330 yuan; the birth rate of family planning was controlled within 8 ‰, maintaining the city's leading level.
