Nanzhang Street

Nanzhang street is located in the northwest of Jining City, 8 kilometers away from the city center. It covers an area of 52.5 square kilometers and has a population of 62527 (2010). It has jurisdiction over 53 administrative villages. 327 National Road, 105 National Road, Jiliang highway cross, Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, Jiliang canal, xingxingou pass through. Historical sites include the tomb of fan Fu in Nanzhang village, which is the father's Tomb of fan Chi, a disciple of Confucius. The town is named after Nanzhang village. It is said that during the reign of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, the surname Zhang moved here from the north gate of Jining City because there was a big armchair in the east of the village. Later, because there was a village named Zhangzhuang in the north of the village, it was changed to nanzhangjiazhuang by its location, which was abbreviated as Nanzhang after liberation. In 1949, it belonged to the third district of Jibei county. In 1956, it belonged to Nanzhang commune. In 1984, it was renamed Nanzhang township. In 1994, it was established as a town.
