Xiawang town
Xiawang town is located in the northeast edge of Shengzhou City, Zhejiang Province, to the north of the main peak of Siming Mountain, 17 kilometers away from the urban area. It borders Yuyao County in the East, huangze Town, Beizhang town and Pukou street in the south, Xianyan town in the west, Sanjie town in the north and Shangyu District in the north.
Historical evolution
Xiawang town was called Youxie Township in Tang and Song dynasties. It was called the eighteen capitals in Yuan Dynasty, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties were together. In the early years of the Republic of China, it belonged to Youkang district. In 1930, it was called Xiehe Township and Wulian township. In May 1949, he belonged to Siming District, which was still Xiehe Township and Wulian township. In 1950, he belonged to Chengdong District, which was divided into Xiehe Township, Xieping Township, Yuanxi Township, Lushan Township and Qishan township. In 1951, it belonged to Lidong district. In 1956, it was reorganized and merged into a new, democratic and peaceful township. In 1958, Lidong people's commune was established, and the administrative area was established by township. In 1961, Lidong people's commune was abolished and new, democratic and peaceful communes were established. In 1970, democracy and Xinjian commune merged into Xinjian commune (Zhu Xiawang). The next year, it was restored to the former organizational system. In 1981, the newly-built commune was renamed Jishan commune. in 1985, Minzhu township (renamed Xiawang) was changed into an established town.
