Xiadian town belongs to Zhaoyuan City, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is located in the south of Zhaoyuan City, adjacent to Biguo town in the East, Laizhou City in the west, Qishan town in the north and Laixi City in the south. Historical evolution

The town belonged to zhixia, Goushan and cao meng communities of Liangshan Township in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was the seventh district. In the 20th year of the Republic of China, it was changed to Goushan, Sixi and Caomeng Township, the fourth district. In 1940, it belonged to the 15th District of the Anti Japanese democratic government of Nanzhao county. After the merger of the north and the south in 1950, it belonged to Goushan district. After communization in 1958, it was divided into two people's communes: Lighthouse and Qianjin. It was merged into Goushan people's commune in 1959. In 1962, Gaoshan commune was incorporated into the commune, and Qinglong commune was set up in the West. In 1981, Qinglong commune was changed into Dongzhuang people's Commune and then Dongzhuang township. In 1984, Goushan commune was changed into Xincun township. In 1988, Xincun township was changed into Xiadian town. In 1995, Dongzhuang township was changed into Qinglong Town. In 2001, Xiadian town was merged with Qinglong Town, and the name of Xiadian town was still used after the merger.
