Pinglidian town is located in the northeast of Laizhou City. It covers an area of 75.42 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 38937 (2017). It is located 15 kilometers northeast of Laizhou City, 120 kilometers away from Qingdao and Yantai International airports, and 18 kilometers away from Laizhou port, a national first-class port open to the outside world.

The origin of place names

It is named after the town government's residence in Pinglidian (Yingli, a neighboring village, is the hometown of Yan Ying, a senior official of Qi State in the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period. People built a long Pavilion here to commemorate Yan Ying's outstanding achievements. Later, it gradually developed into a village and was named pingzhong's hometown store. In the late Ming Dynasty, it evolved into Pinglidian.

Historical evolution

Pinglidian town is located at Laizhou Bay of Jiaodong Peninsula, 15 kilometers northeast of Laizhou City, 120 kilometers away from Qingdao and Yantai International airports, 18 kilometers away from Laizhou port, the first class national open port, and only 120 kilometers away from Qingdao and Yantai ports. Ruins

Pinglidian has a long history and rich cultural accumulation. According to the biography of Guan Yan in historical records, Yan Ying, the Prime Minister of the Qi Dynasty in the spring and Autumn period, was a Uighur of Laizhi. It is said that he lived in his hometown for 28 years. Yanzi was the ruler of Qi linggong, Zhuang Gong and Jing Gong for 57 years. He advocated benevolence and propriety, and diplomacy was responsive. The gallery of Yanying Cultural Square in Pinglidian, where the monument of pingzhong's hometown was rebuilt, was erected in March 1797. Shijiang ancient city. It is said that when the first emperor of Qin visited the East, he found a phoenix on the sand dune on the southwest of Shijiang village in today's Pinglidian. He decided to build a city on the north side of the sand dune, which is 10 meters high and 10 meters wide, 1 km from east to West and 1 km from north to south, with stone man, stone horse, stone sheep and stone lion. So far, the wall base is still clearly visible, leaving Stone Man 1, stone sheep 2, stone Beast 2. The carving is rough and complete except for the incomplete head of one stone sheep.

Lvcun New Year pictures. Lvcun New Year pictures are well-known in Jiaodong Peninsula. They are favored by local people and Chinese and foreign businessmen for their fine craftsmanship, gorgeous ink color and strong local flavor. It was listed in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage list of Yantai City in December 2006. Lvcun New Year pictures have a history of more than 200 years. Most of the themes are ancestor worship, disaster elimination, blessing, official congratulation, birthday celebration, fireworks and so on. The contents include fishermen, woodcutters and farmers, gifted scholars and beauties, music, chess, calligraphy and painting, happiness and longevity, natural scenery, flowers, birds, fish and insects, red men and green women, God of wealth, Bodhisattva and door god. Lvcun New Year pictures integrate printmaking, traditional Chinese painting and folk mural techniques. After generations of exploration and painstaking grinding, they have formed today's meticulous new year painting style of Gouli color filling and ink color blending, which is loved by the people and has been passed on for a long time.
