brief introduction
County seed farm was established in May 1963, the site in the suburbs of Xixia village. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China, when the 32nd group army of the Kuomintang was stationed in Pucheng, all the residents of the village were moved to jiaoyiwan as a new village, and the village site and its rice fields were turned into barracks. In the year of the Republic of China, after the Ministry moved away, it was changed into the 22nd temporary reformatory (wounded soldier hospital) to run a farm. After the liberation of Pucheng in 1949, it was taken over and reorganized as the county agricultural experimental farm. In the spring of 1953, it was incorporated into the state-owned Shuinan farm, known as the Xixia branch of Pucheng County state-owned farm. In 1960, the scale of the farm was expanded, and the Shuinan agricultural brigade of the suburban commune was merged with the state-owned farm, which was called the local state-owned Pucheng Shuinan comprehensive farm, and the Xixia branch was renamed the Xixia direct subordinate team. In 1963, the team directly under Xixia established Pucheng County improved seed farm from Shuinan comprehensive farm. There are 98 mu of paddy field, 26.56 mu of agricultural land, 5 mu of orchard, 19 employees (including 4 cadres).
Scale and development
In the spring of 1969, some paddy fields and agricultural land were occupied by some departments directly under the county to set up small farms. There were only more than 60 mu of paddy fields and 96 mu of agricultural land in the improved seed farm. In 1969, the County nursery moved to huangqiaotou, Shipi, and its cultivated land was classified as improved seed farm. In 1971, all the cultivated land occupied by other units was recovered, and the paddy field area reached 135 mu. In 1973, the improved variety farm was expanded. The first management area of Shuinan comprehensive farm (the original state-owned farm) was classified as the improved variety farm, with 400 mu paddy field, 45 mu farmland, 125 Mu orchard and 109 employees (including 6 cadres). In March 1975, the scale of improved seed farm was expanded again. Shuinan comprehensive farm was merged into county improved seed farm, which was called Shuinan improved seed farm. The rice field area reached 2095 mu. In the winter of 1978, when the "field led" policy was implemented, the production team of the village head brigade of the village head commune was assigned to the improved variety farm. There are 547 people, 215 labors and 481 Mu paddy fields in the village. As a management area of improved seed farm, the village maintains collective ownership and implements independent accounting. In the winter of 1982, it returned to the village team, and the improved variety farm still maintained its original scale.
The county improved variety farm is the original (good) variety breeding base of crops in the county, which carries out the demonstration of high yield of improved varieties and methods. Since the establishment of improved variety farm in 1963, a total of 1738 tons of improved rice varieties were bred in 1988. In 1980, 116 tons of original (good) species were bred, the highest in the region. Since the establishment of the field, it has successively undertaken regional trials of rice varieties arranged by provinces and regions. Only 707 rice varieties (combinations) were selected, and 72 high-yield varieties were screened. Since 1985, the contract responsibility system has been implemented, and 19 family farms have been set up with workers' families as the unit.
