Historical development

Cunjin street was under the jurisdiction of Suixi County before the Qing Dynasty. In 1899, after France rented Guangzhou Bay, Cunjin street was divided into two parts, with Cunjin bridge as the boundary, French colony in the East and Suixi County in the West. In September 1945, after the government of the Republic of China took back Guangzhou Bay and set up Zhanjiang City, the East and the West became Chikan District Office. In the early days of the founding of new China, Cunjin street was divided into Dade administrative street, Cunjin administrative street and 921 administrative street. In October 1955, these three administrative streets were merged into Cunjin administrative street, which was changed into Cunjin administrative Street office in 1956. When Chikan people's commune of Zhanjiang City was established in June 1960, the former administrative Street office was abolished, and Cunjin administrative district was established. In 1968, it was renamed Cunjin Revolutionary Committee, and in 1980, it was changed into Cunjin administrative Street office The Cunjin Revolutionary Committee was abolished and renamed Cunjin sub district office. Now it has jurisdiction over 10 neighborhood committees and 46 neighborhood groups, including 921, Xinhua, Dade, Aimin, Yingrong, Yongjun, Huhe, Cunjin, Beiqiao and Beixing.
