Damatou Township, subordinate to Le'an County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest of Le'an County, 200 meters away from the Liukeng exit of Fu Ji Expressway (Le'an section) and the interchange of Changning expressway. Provincial Highway 6 passes through the border, and the township government is 14 kilometers away from the county. As of March 2019, damatou township has a total area of 80.5 square kilometers, 5 Village (neighborhood) committees and 30 village groups, with a total of 6077 people from 1473 households.
Damatou township is a hilly area with an altitude of about 300 meters. The rural area is located in the subtropical mild and humid climate zone, with four distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is 17.7 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1650-1770 mm, and the frost free period is 265 days. There are abundant forest resources such as pine, fir, bamboo and Camellia oleifera, as well as mineral resources such as iron, coal and granite.
Evolution of organizational system
Damatou township was established on the basis of damatou reclamation farm. Damatou reclamation farm was founded in December 1957 for cadres to go up and down the mountain. It is the only agricultural reclamation institution in Le'an county. From 1984 to 1992, it was subordinate to the County Forestry Bureau as a unit at the deputy section level. In December 1992, it was listed in the township series management (section level), and the Party committee of damatou reclamation farm has been established. In November 2011, according to the spirit of the leading group for the reform of state-owned enterprises in seven systems of Jiangxi Province and other documents, the reform of state-owned agricultural reclamation enterprises was carried out. All 135 employees handled social endowment insurance and medical insurance, issued economic compensation and unemployment compensation for employees, invested 6.92 million yuan of reform funds, replaced the status of employees, and signed the labor agreement for the termination of employees The reform of enterprises has been completed in an all-round way. According to the spirit of the documents of the provincial government and the Provincial Department of civil affairs, the application for the establishment of township was officially launched in September 2013. On April 18, 2014, it was approved by the provincial government and approved by the Provincial Department of civil affairs to establish damatou township.

Economics
The main industries in damatou township are flue-cured tobacco, edible fungi and live pigs. In 2006, flue-cured tobacco was developed and gradually cultivated to become a major industry for financial growth and farmers' income increase. Edible fungi, a traditional industry in damatou, began to grow in various towns in the county in the early 1980s, and gradually developed to all parts of the city. In 1996, it began to go out of the province, mainly in Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, etc. Large scale pig breeding began in the 1970s. As of March 2019, there are four pig farms in damatou Township, with an annual output of more than 4000 pigs.
