Ganjiangyuan town

Ganjiangyuan town is located in Shicheng County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, with Danyang Village of Hengjiang town in the north and Longgang Township and Pingshan Town in the West. In the south is Ridong Township, Ruijin city. East of Wuyi Mountains, Changting County, Fujian Province. The ocean is the birthplace of Ganjiang River, the largest river in Jiangxi Province, and is one of the main tributaries of the Yangtze River.

Basic introduction

In order to protect the ecological environment of Ganjiangyuan, facilitate the daily work of mountain people, speed up the poverty alleviation and prosperity of mountain farmers, and promote the economic development of the county, with the approval of the provincial people's government, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs officially approved the establishment of Ganjiangyuan town on May 23, 2018. It is agreed that 11 village committees such as Ganjiangyuan, Yangdi, Jingkou, panbie, Taohua, Shixi, ruikeng, Yanghe, Youlian, Qiuxi and Luoyun should be separated from Hengjiang town to establish Ganjiangyuan Town, and Qiuxi village should be set up as the seat of town government. The town covers an area of 108.24 square kilometers, including 80 square kilometers of protected area with a total population of 21400. On August 30, 2018, the leading group and cadres of Ganjiangyuan town were officially in place and began to operate. In 2018, there were a total of 54 cadres in the town, including 15 civil servants, 27 career cadres, 2 college student village officials, 1 three support and one support, and 9 public welfare posts.

Most of Ganjiangyuan town belongs to Ganjiangyuan nature reserve. Shicheng County established Ganjiangyuan county-level Nature Reserve in 1998, and the provincial government approved the establishment of Ganjiangyuan Provincial Nature Reserve in 2004. In 2008, Ganjiangyuan Provincial Nature Reserve of Shicheng County and Ganjiangyuan nature reserve of Ruijin City were merged and renamed "Ganjiangyuan Provincial Nature Reserve of Jiangxi Province", with a total area of 16100.85 hectares (240000 mu), including 5491.8 hectares of core area, 3493.6 hectares of buffer area and 7115.45 hectares of experimental area. Shicheng County accounts for two-thirds of the total area (160000 mu). Ganjiangyuan Nature Reserve has dense forest, complete ecosystem and 95% forest coverage. It has stable ecological function of water conservation and transports 10 million tons of first-class high-quality water to the Yangtze River every year, known as "water tower of Jiangxi".
