GeTian Township

GeTian township is located in the northwest of Jinggangshan City and the southeast of Ninggang County, Jiangxi Province. Covering an area of 40.02 square kilometers, it governs 5 administrative villages and 47 villager groups. It is connected with Maoping Township and Dalong town in the East, Yanling County in Hunan Province in the south, Longshi town and Mucun Township in the west, and Hehua Township in the north. The total population of the township is 6463.

In ancient times, it was rich in kudzu powder, so it was named GeTian. In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Dalong Township, and the GeTian commune was established in 1958. In 1968, Dalong, Maoping and GeTian communes merged into Maoping commune. In 1972, the three communes were divided and the GeTian commune was restored. In 1984, it was renamed as GeTian Township and Hehua township was established. Located in the southeast of Ninggang County, the township government is located in GeTian, 7.5km away from the county. In 1997, it covers an area of 47.3 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It governs five administrative villages, namely, GeTian, Gutian, Shubei, Hualing and Yangao.

The territory is dominated by hills and mountains, with 524.91 hectares of arable land and 2466.2 hectares of forest land. There are porcelain clay, granite, rare earth, fluorite and other mineral resources. The village road is connected with national highway 319, 2.5km away from the government of GeTian township. The power consumption of the whole village is good, mainly due to the transformation of rural power grid. At present, about half of the households in the village are equipped with telephones, mobile phones and PHS have strong signals, and most of the households are equipped with satellite receivers with clear TV images.
