Huanglong Township, under the jurisdiction of Jinggangshan City, Jiangxi Province, is located at the southern foot of Jinggangshan. It is the gate of Jinggangshan to Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong provinces, with a total area of 99.8 square kilometers and five administrative villages. In late 2018, Huang had 7769 registered residence population.

Evolution of organizational system
Huangao township is an important part of Jinggangshan revolutionary base.
In 1949, it was Huanglong township of Suichuan County; in 1958, Huanglong commune was established; in 1969, it was divided into Jinggangshan administrative area; in 1984, it was rebuilt as a township.

History and culture
Huanglong township is an important part of Jinggangshan revolutionary base. In 1928, Mao Zedong and Zhu De led the workers' and peasants' Red Army to carry out revolutionary struggle here, and established the first district level workers' and peasants' army government of the Communist Party of China - Huangao workers' and peasants' army government, which fought against local tyrants, divided land and built granaries. At present, there are seven well preserved sites of the former red residence, including Comrade Mao Zedong's former residence, Red Army material transfer station, zhushachong sentry post and yuandunling battle site, two of which are provincial cultural relics protection units.
