Tongpu Township

Tongpu Township, Jiangda County, Changdu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, was established in 1959, changed into a commune in 1970, and resumed in 1984. Located in the northeast of the county, 20 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 979.6 square kilometers and has a population of 8330 (2017). National Highway 317 passes through. It has jurisdiction over 12 village committees, namely, Renda, Geya, Yamai, Deji, Muba, Jiba, wazu, dongdou, Shaba, jiangba, Xiarong and Geba. It is a semi agricultural and semi pastoral Township, planting highland barley, wheat and rape, and Grazing Yak, cattle, goats and sheep.

Bolojirong Grand Canyon is located at the junction of Tongpu Township and BOLUO Township in Jiangda County, about 25 km away from the county seat. Duoqu river flows from the county to the East and flows into Jinsha River. On both sides of the Strait, there are majestic peaks, cliffs and canyons about 5 kilometers long. In the Duoqu river of the gorge, there are four square stone dice used for playing chess for Gesar, the "Overpass" of zhum, stone Buddha statues and other landscapes. In the middle of the canyon, there is a cave which is difficult to climb up. Local people call it Gesar cave to subdue demons.
