Enjiang town

Enjiang Town, subordinate to Yongfeng County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is the seat of Yongfeng county and the political, economic and cultural center of Yongfeng county. The town covers an area of 78.58 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 15 communities and 8 administrative villages. In late 2018, the town of ejiang had 96 thousand and 600 registered residence.

By the end of 2018, there were 335 industrial enterprises and 15 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Enjiang town.

Historical evolution

During the period of the Republic of China, it was called Enjiang town.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was called Enjiang town in the west of the city, with six constituencies of Bayi, Minzhu, Jinxiang, Kaiji, Sanqi and Tianbao; in 1958, Enjiang people's commune was established; in 1980, Enjiang people's government was restored.

History and culture

The origin of place names

Enjiang Town, formerly known as Baoen Town, got its name from ouyangbao, the filial son of the Han Dynasty, who rescued the tiger to repay his kindness. It was the seat of Yongfeng county from the Northern Song Dynasty to the second year of he (1055).

cultural relics and historic sites

Baoen Temple Pagoda is located on the Bank of Enjiang River in the western suburb of Yongfeng county. It was built in 1369, the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. It is the first ancient pagoda in Yongfeng county. The tower is a green brick structure with 9 levels and 4 sides. The top of the tower is a cylindrical iron brake and the tower body is square. Each side of the bottom layer is 6.45 meters long, and each layer decreases upward, with moderate proportion and beautiful shape. The height of the tower is 29.285 meters. On the east side of the pagoda, there are two to seven storeys, while on the other three sides, there are only two or three storeys. In 1959, it was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit in Jiangxi Province. In 1984, the Provincial Department of culture allocated funds for maintenance.

Yongshu park is located on the Bank of nanenjiang River in the county seat. It is a garden park named after Ouyang Xiu. The park integrates natural landscape and cultural landscape. It is mainly composed of Ouyangxiu memorial hall, Baoen temple tower, Zhuangyuan tower, Enjiang bridge, Liuyi bridge, gexi bridge, ancient city wall, Longpan temple and other scenic spots.

Enjiang provincial Wetland Park is located in the south of Yongfeng County, mainly including the section from the new Enjiang bridge (s223 provincial road bridge) in the upper reaches of Enjiang River to the third Yongfeng bridge in the lower reaches, and the area enclosed by the flood dike and River shelterbelt on both sides of the river. The section is about 7 km long, with a total planning area of 204.74 hectares and a wet land area of 194.45 hectares. There are 339 species of wetland vascular plants in 107 families, 107 species of wild vertebrates, belonging to 50 families of 23 orders.

Honorary title

On September 11, 2019, Enjiang town was selected as one of the top 100 comprehensive competitive towns in Central China in 2018.
