Luotian town
Luotian town is located in the southeast of Jishui County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province. In the southeast, it is adjacent to Guxian, tengtian, Yaotian, Shaxi and other townships of Yongfeng County, and in the northwest, it is adjacent to Baisha and Guanshan of Jishui County, 68 kilometers away from the county seat. The total area of the town is 199 square kilometers, and the town area is 2 square kilometers. The resident population was 15061 (2017).
Historical evolution
Before liberation, it belonged to Luotian Township, the Sixth District; after liberation, it belonged to Luotian Township and Yitian township of Baisha district; in 1985, it was called Luotian commune when it was communized; in 1959, Xinhe commune was established; in 1960, Xinhe commune was merged; in 1961, Xinhe commune was established; in 2001, Luotian town was established by the merger of Luotian Township and Xinhe township.

Geography
There are mainly mountains and valleys in the territory. The highest is Panling mountain with an altitude of 553 meters, and the lowest is Hejing village with an altitude of 120 meters and an average altitude of 270 meters.

The territory has a mild climate and four distinct seasons. It is wet and rainy in spring and summer, and dry and rainless in autumn. The annual rainfall is about 500 mm, the frost free period is 216 days, and the annual average temperature is 18.3 ℃. It is suitable for planting rice and economic crops adapted to the growth characteristics of mountainous areas.

The underground mineral deposits include bituminous coal, lead and zinc, which have been mined. Because it is a mountainous area, it is rich in forestry resources, especially Camellia oleifera planted in the mountains, and the yield of Camellia oleifera is also large.

In 2004, the gross national product of the town was 197.69 million yuan, including 105.91 million yuan of industrial output value, 82.4 million yuan of agricultural output value, 4.81 million yuan of fiscal revenue and 2700 yuan of per capita income of farmers. the domestic economy is dominated by agriculture, mainly growing rice, with special products such as garlic, ginger, rape, pepper, watermelon, etc. the annual planting area of garlic and ginger is nearly 10000 mu, which is well-known both inside and outside the province. It has been awarded the "pollution-free agricultural products (vegetables) base in Jiangxi Province" by Jiangxi Provincial Department of agriculture. In recent years, watermelon planting area is also expanding, because of good taste and exported to Guangdong and other places.
