Dagu Township, belonging to Ningdu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of Ningdu county. Historical evolution

In July 1950, Dagu Township belonged to the seventh district.

In October 1958, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. Dagu Township belonged to the May 1st people's commune.

In November 1961, it belongs to Huangpi District.

In 1982, Dagu people's commune was established.

In 1984, according to the constitution, the township system was restored.

Dagu township is located in the northwest of Ningdu County, at the junction of Yongfeng County of Ji'an City and Xingguo County of Ganzhou City, belonging to the junction of "two cities and three counties". It is adjacent to Xiaobu town in the East, Huangpi town in the south, Junbu township of Yongfeng County in the west, Nankeng township of Xingguo County in the west, Shanggu township of Yongfeng County in the north, 60 km away from the county seat. It covers an area of 167.59 square kilometers.

The main characteristic industries of Dagu township are tea oil, Dagu Baihao tea, Huanghua pear, etc. With an area of 100000 mu, Camellia oleifera is one of the eight major Camellia oleifera bases in Jiangxi Province, known as "Ningdu oil depot", with an annual output of 300000 kg of tea oil. Dagu Baihao tea garden covers an area of 300 mu, with a high-yield area of more than 200 mu. It has won the title of high-quality famous tea in Jiangxi Province for many times. It won the gold award of the second National Agricultural Expo in 1995 and the first prize of "China tea cup" in 2005. Huanghua pear covers an area of more than 800 mu, mainly concentrated in Gujiao village, with an annual output of 200000 kg. There are honey, fresh winter bamboo shoots, dried bamboo shoots, green orange pear, nectarine, meat rabbit, rattan products, pearl embroidery processing products.

History and culture

Hakka culture

Hakka culture contains "honesty gene". The four walls of the Gongbao Hall of Hu's ancestral hall in Mingji village of Dagu township are all written with the words "loyalty, filial piety, honesty and integrity", which convey Hakka's respect and inheritance of "honesty".

Ancient coins unearthed

Xiaogu village, Dagu Township, has unearthed a number of ancient coins from the Western Han Dynasty to the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, after a number of ancient coins were unearthed in Dongshao Township in 1979. In March 1983, when members of Xiaogu village were building houses to collect soil, they found these coins on a hillside about 50 meters west of the village, about 0.7 meters from the surface of the earth. The total amount of these coins is about 65 kg, of which 43.5 kg was recovered by Ningdu County Museum. According to the signs of the excavation site, it can be concluded that this is a hoard.

Flower lantern of Dagu ancient religion in Ningdu

Ningdu Dagu ancient religious lantern originated in Dagu village in 1833, and has a history of more than 100 years. Its inheritance area is mainly at the entrance of ancient religious village. The lantern activities in Gujiao village are held from the 13th to the 15th of the first month. Everywhere the lanterns go, the gongs and drums are noisy, and there are firecrackers and cheers everywhere. On the morning of the 16th of the first month of the first lunar month, the ceremony of lighting was held. The so-called Huadeng is to send the ancestors and lanterns back to heaven, but also to send away the unclean things in the village. In 2013, it was published as the fourth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage list by Jiangxi Provincial People's government.
