Sanling Township

Sanling township is located in the northwest of Congtai District, Handan City, Hebei Province, 8.5km away from the district government. Beijing Guangzhou railway, 107 National Highway and Hanwu highway cross the border. The township government is located in jiangsanling village.

Sanling Township, with a land area of 55.79 square kilometers and a permanent population of 28576 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 25 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In 1956, Jiangyao Township and zhongsanling Township were merged into Sanling township. In 1958, they were merged into the suburbs of Handan city and became Sanling management area of Hucun commune. Sanling commune was established in 1961, returned to Handan County in 1962 and restored to township in 1984. In 1996, it was incorporated into the engineering township. In 1997, it covers an area of 60 square kilometers and has a population of 23000. From April 1, 2014, it was under the jurisdiction of Congtai District of Handan City (trusteeship).
