Because the surrounding villages are located in the center of Xingqi Luobu, and the boats from Fangtian port, Mengzhai port and yaoche port stay there, Yafan became a market for commodity distribution. At first, people called it wafan. Later, scholars changed its name to Yafan. Near yaoche, a commercial port with convenient water and land transportation, the market withered after several floods and droughts. Houchen Village in the West and Lu Village in the South were also affected by floods and droughts The village was moved to Yafan and gradually expanded into a market town. It was once set up as Nanhua Township, and Shuangshan township was set up in the southern part. Later, the South Gate of Jinhua and the original Nanhua Township were merged into Nanping township. During the Japanese puppet period, Yafan township was changed into Yafan Township according to its aggressive forces. Other townships lived in the area of Yafan district. After the restoration, Yafan town established a town government. In 1949, Yafan was liberated and the people's Government of Yafan district was established. There were seven townships, namely Qinghu Township, andI Township, waifan Township, ruoyang Township, Tongshan Township, Yafan Township and Dongmei township. Later, it was changed into an District and the district government was set up in Andi. Soon after, the district office moved back to Yafan town and changed Tongshan Township into Huanan township. When it was demolished and merged, Qinghu township was transferred from Yafan district to Sumeng Township and included in Jinhua Economic Development Zone Dongmei township was separated from Yafan district and merged into Jindong District.
