Chitu She nationality township, under the jurisdiction of Nankang District, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest of Nankang District, adjacent to Rongjiang street in the East, Fushi Township and Dayu County in the south, Chongyi County in the West and hengzhai Township in the north. The total area is 142.13 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 52028 households registered residence in the countryside of the red earth. As of June 2020, Chitu she rural area has jurisdiction over one community and 17 administrative villages.
There is a lot of red soil in Chitu Township, which also produces red gold. In 2001, the system of Chitu town was abolished and the township of She nationality in Chitu was set up. It became the only minority Township in Ganzhou City and the minority Township with the largest minority population in Jiangxi Province.
By the end of 2018, there were 25 industrial enterprises in Chitu she Township, including one industrial enterprise above Designated Size and three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
There is a lot of red soil in Chitu Township, which also produces red gold. It is named after the red earth polder of the resident village.
At the beginning of the liberation of new China, it was a part of Chitu and Ailian townships in Fushi district and Wugong Township in Rongjiang district.
At the time of co-operation, there were 19 senior societies in Chitu, Ailian, Liantang and Wugong townships, including Chitu, Qingtang, Liantang and Ailian.
In 1958, it belonged to Xianfeng and Liantang communes.
In 1961, it belonged to three communes of Chitu, Liantang and Wugong.
In 1965, Liantang and Wugong communes were merged into the Chitu commune.
In 1968, Huqiao commune was incorporated.
In 1972, Changtang commune was separated.
In 1984, it was renamed Chitu township.
In 1989, the township was set up.
In 2001, the system of Chitu town was abolished and the Chitu she township was established, which is the only minority Township in Ganzhou City. Chitu She nationality township

In 1997, Chitu town had 22 administrative villages including Qishan, Chitu, Hongtao, Zhangshu, Heba, Liantang, Shili, Futian, luowu, Qingtang, Ailian, Huayuan, Zhukeng, hugang, Xiaoling, Dasu, Xinghua, waling, Xiaoshui, Ganbei, Sancun and Xiabu. The town government was stationed in Chitu dyke.
As of June 2020, Chitu she village has one community and 17 administrative villages: Fenghuang community, Chitu village, Ganbei village, Heba village, Huayuan village, waling village, Futian village, hugang village, Qingtang village, Xinghua village, Xiaoling village, Ailian village, Hongtao village, Sancun village, Xiaoshui village, Liantang village, Qishan village and Shili village.
