Its primitive Korean pine forest has nearly 4000 hectares, which is one of the relatively large original Korean pine forests preserved in China.

Maoershan Experimental Forest Farm

Maoershan Forest Farm was determined as a National Forest Park in 1996, covering an area of 26400 hectares. The vegetation in the forest farm belongs to Changbai Mountain flora, which is a typical natural secondary forest area in the eastern mountainous area of Northeast China. The original zonal climax community is Korean pine broad-leaved forest. The forest coverage rate of the forest farm is 79.5%, the total forest volume is 105 cubic meters per hectare, and the growth rate is as high as 12 cubic meters per hectare. There are various types of natural secondary forest, woody and herbaceous plants, a total of more than 1000 species. There are dozens of wild animals. In the past five years, the construction task has been fully completed, and it has become a modern education base with complete functions. In 1998, the forest farm was identified as the key forest area of "natural forest protection project".
