Legong township is located in the northeast mountainous area of Jiangxi Province. It is a unit of Jiulongshan reclamation and borders on Qimen County, Anhui Province, the famous origin of Qihong. Legong township is located in the north of Jiaotan District, Fuliang County, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. It is located at the junction of Anhui and Jiangxi. It is close to Jiangcun Township in the East and south, West Lake and jinggongqiao Township in the west, and Xin'an Township in Qimen County, Anhui Province in the North. It is commonly known as "the north gate of Jiangxi". The township government is located in yangjiafan. It has jurisdiction over six village committees, including Legong, chacun, Cangxi, Shixi, yangjiaban and Baimao, and four farms. Legong Township covers a total area of 108 square kilometers, with a total population of 7057 by 2008. Except for Hui and Li, all of them belong to Han nationality. Legong township is named after Legong Street (one of the four streets in Fuliang County). Jurisdiction of the Qing Dynasty, Fuliang County is a new township Dawei capital. Before liberation, it belonged to Quanmin Township in the Fifth District and Xinzheng Township in the Sixth District of Fuliang County. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was Legong Township, the Fifth District of Fuliang County. In 1960, it was a state-owned Jiulongshan reclamation farm. In 1984, Jiulongshan reclamation farm changed its name to Legong township.
Economics
Legong township is a township with agriculture, forestry and tea industry as the leading industries. It is an important base of tea production in Jingdezhen city and one of the "Qihong" central tea producing areas in China. It has a long history and is well-known at home and abroad. There are more than 7000 mu of paddy fields in the township. There are tea refining factories, primary factories, agricultural machinery factories, clothing factories, wood processing factories, glass drawing factories, plastic factories, oil pressing factories, and agricultural and commercial purchasing and marketing departments. The township has convenient transportation and well-developed communication.
