Sansha town

Sansha town is located in Xiapu County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. It is 126 nautical miles away from Keelung port and 16 nautical miles away from Mazu island. According to historical records, from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, there were garrisons in this town. Historically, it has been known as "the gateway of Funing and the key to Fujian and Zhejiang", and has been known as "the hub of Fujian and Zhejiang" and "an important coastal town" since ancient times.

Sansha town is a famous fishing ground in East Fujian Province. It is a first-class fishing port. It is one of the first four second-class ports for trade with Taiwan in Fujian Province. Historical evolution

Ancient times

In Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties and Song Dynasty, the present Sansha town belongs to zhuoxiuli, a town of persuading Confucianism. In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to the five capitals. From Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to five or six capitals. In 1909, Xiadong (Sansha) district was set up.

In 1973, the first "Yuxiang" platform to enter the Chinese mainland stopped at the port of Xiapu.
