Jiaoyang town

Jiao Yang Town, a county in Shanghang, Longyan, Fujian, is located in the northeast of Shanghang county. It is the junction of Meihua Mountain, which is the junction of three counties (districts), Xinluo, Liancheng and Shanghang. The area is 231.25 square kilometers, and the town area is 6 square kilometers, of which 4 kilometers are Jiao Yang Town, 2 square kilometers of Pingpu Town, 25950 registered residence population (2018), 25 administrative villages (October 2019). Shanghang county is the largest administrative village and the largest area of Township, is the old revolutionary base, Minxi golden channel, new industrial city, ecological agriculture base.

Historical evolution

In 1950, Jiaoyang township was established.

In 1958, the upstream commune was changed.

In 1965, it was renamed Jiaoyang commune.

In 1984, the township was restored.

In 2000, the township government moved from Qiufang to Jiaoyang.

In 2012, Jiaoyang township was abolished and Jiaoyang town was established.

In 2005, Shanghang county Party committee and government established an industrial park in Jiaoyang. In 2007, Jiaoyang was listed as a key township industrial concentration area supported by the city. In 2009, it was listed as the pilot town of small town construction and the "industrial new town" of Longyan central city. In 2013, it was listed as "strong industrial town" by Longyan municipal Party committee and municipal government. Jiaoyang Industrial Park is a demonstration park of circular economy in Fujian Province during the 12th Five Year Plan period. The planning area of the industrial park is 7.56 square kilometers, and 35 enterprises have signed contracts to enter the park. In 2016, the industrial output value reached 21 billion yuan, accounting for half of Shanghang County.

History and culture

Old revolutionary base areas

Jiaoyang town is an important part of the former revolutionary base of Western Fujian in the Central Soviet area. The "First National Congress of Western Fujian" of the Communist Party of China, directed by Mao Zedong, was held here. The "Jiaoyang uprising" is one of the four major uprisings in Western Fujian. The first main Red Army in Western Fujian, the first Red Army Hospital in Western Fujian and the first bank in the Central Soviet area were all born in Jiaoyang.
