Xintai township is located in Kaijiang County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. In March 1954, when the first census was conducted, Xintai township was established from Yongxing and Lingyan townships. In 1958, it was renamed Xintai commune, and in 1984, it was renamed Xintai township. The township is located in the north of the county, covering an area of 42.24 square kilometers, with a total population of 11159 (2017).

Hantianba coal mine was built in Hanlin village of the township. In 1997, it was awarded "township with output value of 100 million yuan" by Dachuan prefectural Party committee and administrative office; in 1991, it was awarded "well-off township" by Dachuan prefectural Party committee and administrative office; in 2005, it was awarded "model township of villager autonomy" by Dazhou Municipal government. It mainly produces rice, wheat, corn, potato, oil, tobacco, vegetables, fruits, medicinal materials, olive, etc. Breeding industry mainly includes pigs, cattle, sheep, rabbits, birds, fish, etc. There are abundant resources of coal, natural gas, limestone and iron ore. The total forest area is 333 hectares, including 173 hectares of woodland. There are 302 hectares of ginkgo, walnut, chestnut and olive bases. Yangliuchi, chaeryan and Heishan tea fields in the township are 4 hectares on the right. In 1983, a mushroom planting base was established; in 2001, Kaijiang Dongsheng biological series Co., Ltd. was established, and its owner Wu shangsheng mainly cultivated mushrooms, with an annual net income of more than 10000 yuan. In 2oo3, anguls beef cattle breed was introduced and 50 cows were raised in the township. By 2005, there are two anguls beef cattle base, two binary hybrid sow breeding farms and two Rex rabbit farms. In the township, 7000 live pigs are sold annually and 6000 are in stock. Yang Mingxue, a large farmer, raised more than 1200 Rex rabbits. Transportation is very convenient. Yong (Xing) Ling (Yan) road runs through the countryside, and there are 8 rural roads, 25 kilometers in total. There are more than 90 trucks and agricultural vehicles. In 1997, it was built into a market town with an area of 0.10 square kilometers and 4 streets, with a total length of 2.40 kilometers. In May 2001, the market trade was resumed, and the first, fourth and seventh days were the market days.
