Tancheng street is located in Jianyang District, Nanping City, Fujian Province. It is the political, economic, cultural, transportation and geographical center of Jianyang District, Nanping City. It is located on the banks of Chongyang River and Mayang river. The two rivers converge in the south of the city.

It is bounded by Chongyang River in the East, Xushi town in the south, Jukou town in the West and Tongyou sub district office new village in the north.

It covers an area of 123.41 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages and 11 community neighborhood committees, with a total population of 65349 (2010).

Human history

It was the first district in 1950. Chengguan town was built in 1956. It was changed into Chengguan commune in 1958. It was rebuilt in 1964 and its name was changed in 1982. In 1997, it covers an area of 24.1 square kilometers and has a population of 47000. It has jurisdiction over three village committees of Chengguan, Hengnan and Shuidong, and five neighborhood committees of Shuidong, Xishi, Zhongnan, Yong'an and Qiaonan. In 2002, the town was removed and the streets were set up. The original Tongyou town was divided into six villages: kaoting, Yandun, zhoudun, Huiyao, Xiyuan and Huangdun. Shuidong neighborhood committee and Shuidong village were put under the new Tongyou street.

Tancheng street is an ancient city with a long history. In 112 B.C., King Yu Shan of Fujian and Yue rebelled against the Han Dynasty and built datancheng here. On May 10, 1949, Jianyang City was liberated. The tombs of the revolutionary martyrs and the monument of heroes in Jianyang are located in the high mountains of Tancheng. Tanshan park has a beautiful scenery. Since ancient times, there have been many talented people in Tancheng street, and it is also the place where Zhu Xi, a neo Confucianist of the Southern Song Dynasty, gave lectures. Zhu Xi founded the kaoting Academy in kaoting village, recruited many disciples, gathered many people to give lectures, and founded the famous "kaoting school" in the history of Chinese Neo Confucianism, which became the humanistic landscape of "Nanmin que Li". The area has beautiful scenery, such as kaoting academy, "tree embracing Buddha" wonders, Youyan mountain scenic spots, broken stone ecological orchard and other tourist attractions, depicting Tan City as a beautiful picture of fresh and natural.
