Mabi town is located in the northeast of Lianjiang county, Fujian Province, on the West Bank of the belly of Luoyuan Bay, adjacent to Songshan town of Luoyuan county. It is the northernmost important town in Lianjiang county. Mabi town is located at an altitude of 5 meters, 45 kilometers away from Lianjiang county. It is a central market town in the belly of Luoyuan Bay. It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages and 10 natural villages.

In 2017, Mabi town had an administrative area of 3811 hectares and a permanent population of 36816.

In the Ming Dynasty, Mabi town built a fortress against Japanese pirates, where Qi Jiguang led his troops to wipe out Japanese pirates. Mabi town is named for the fact that there is a pile of rocks by the sea, which looks like the nose of a horse.

Historical evolution

From Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, Mabi town belonged to baoanli and Jianxingli of Wuxian township. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it was the Sixth District. In the 24th year of the Republic of China, chabaojia was divided into Mabi, chishi, gongtou and xunbei, belonging to the third regional department. In the 29th year of the Republic of China, it was changed into Machi Township, gongtou Township and xunbei township. In the 30 years of the Republic of China, xunbei township was assigned to Luoyuan county. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China, Ma Chi and Gong tou merged into Ma Tou township. In January of the 35th year of the Republic of China, it was renamed suonan township.

At the beginning of the founding of new China, it was the resident of the Sixth District. In 1955, it was renamed horse nose region. In July 1958, Guanban and Changlong townships were established, and Mabi people's commune was established in September of the same year. In January 1960, Guanban commune was merged (and separated in June 1961). In 1984, the society was withdrawn and the township was built. In September 1990, toubao township was founded. In August 1992, it was changed into town system. In the history of Mabi, there are many talented people, including one Wu Tanhua, nine Jinshi, seven Juren and more than 30 Gongsheng.
