Shangxiao town

Shangxiao Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Zhenyuan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Zhenyuan County, connecting Xiaojin town of Xifeng District in the East, Honghe township of Libu town of Jingchuan County in the south, Tunzi town in the West and Taiping Town in the north, with a total administrative area of 150.8 square kilometers.

In 1949, Shangxiao district was established; in December 1983, Shangxiao township was changed. In 2018, Shangxiao township was removed from the township and built into a town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Shaxiao town was 38482. In June 2020, Shangxiao town governs 11 administrative villages.

In 2011, the total revenue of Shangxiao town was 2.2 million yuan, an increase of 10% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 18 industrial enterprises in Shangxiao Town, including one above scale and eight comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

In 1949, Shangxiao district was established.

In 1956, the district was withdrawn and reduced to township.

In March 1958, it was renamed Shangxiao township; in August of the same year, it became a Tunzi commune.

In June 1961, Shangxiao commune was established.

In December 1983, it was changed to Xiaoxiang.

In 2004, Shiya village of Pengyang township was incorporated into the city.

In 2018, Shangxiao township was removed from the township and built into a town.

At the end of 2011, the 11 towns under the jurisdiction of Shaw town were: Xiong Wu, Wutong, Bei Zhuang, Lu Ling, Jingkou, Qing Zhai, Zhai Chi, Yang Cheng, Nan Li, Xiling and ginger Cao; and 103 villagers' groups were set up.

In June 2020, the town of Shaxiao was administered by 11 administrative villages: Xiong Wu Village, Wutong village, Bei Zhuang village, Lu Ling village, Jingkou village, Qing Zhai village, Zhai Chi Village, Yang Cheng village, southern Licun, Xiling village and ginger Cao village.

The landform of Shangxiao town is mainly tableland, and the tableland surface is relatively complete. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, with an average altitude of 1456 meters. The highest point is located in Quchi, 1541 meters above sea level; the lowest point is located in Xiongwu.
