Shucheng is located in the middle of Anhui Province, between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River, with a total area of 2100 square kilometers and a population of 992000. It has a long history of over 2000 years. Shucheng has beautiful mountains and rivers, many sceneries, Wanfo lake, Wanfo hot spring and other famous natural scenery. Shucheng is the national commodity grain base, the national green food production base Demonstration County, the National Ecological Demonstration County, known as the back garden of Hefei. Shucheng has won the titles of "national advanced county in sports work", "the first place in the province's construction of civilized county", "provincial" double support "model county" and so on. In September 1998, as an inland county, Shucheng successfully hosted the Asian triathlon and the national Triathlon Championship for the first time in China. Founded in December 2002, Shucheng economic development zone is a provincial development zone approved by the national development and Reform Commission and one of the 50 entrepreneurial bases in Anhui Province. Located in the northwest of the county, the development zone has four administrative villages. National Highway 206 and provincial highway Liushu pass through the area. It is 36 km away from Hefei high tech Development Zone, 132 km away from Anqing port, 20 km away from Shucheng station of Hejiu railway and 22 km away from Shucheng entrance of Shanghai Chengdu expressway. The total planning area of Shucheng economic development zone is 13.8 square kilometers, of which the starting area is 2.5 square kilometers. Shucheng economic development zone is an economic zone where Shucheng county implements special preferential policies.
