Huaiya Town, belonging to Mei County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the east of Mei County, adjacent to Hengqu town in the East, Jinqu town in the west, Tangyu town in the south, Weihe River in the north and jiangzhang town in Fufeng County. The maximum distance from east to west is 10.6 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 5.2 kilometers, with a total area of 33.1 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
Before the earthquake occurred in the reign of renzongjingyou in the Northern Song Dynasty, an ancient locust tree in the territory got its name because of its bud in the middle of winter.
In the early Qing Dynasty, a town was set up. The town was named huaiya after the village, which was followed by the Republic of China.
In May 1949, it was the Second District of Fuxian county.
In 1956, huaiya district was retained.
In September 1958, Dongfeng commune was established, and in December of the same year, it was assigned to Zhouzhi County.
In September 1961, it returned to Meixian County and changed its name to huaiya commune.
In February 1968, it was changed into Dongfeng commune.
In 1972, it was changed into huaiya commune.
In April 1984, huaiya town was established.
In October 2005, fanjiagou village and cangfangbao village merged into Xijie village, Huangjiazhuang village and Zhaojiazhuang village merged into Huaixi village.
In 2011, huaiya town governs 9 administrative villages.
