Historical evolution

Shushan town was established in 1950, and Baisheng township was established in 1952. Shushan commune was established in 1958, and Baisheng commune was established in 1962. In 1983, Shushan Township and Baisheng Township were changed. In 1987, Shushan township was removed to build a town. In 1992, Baisheng township was merged into Shushan town, and in 1995, Baisheng township was restored. In 1996, Shushan town covers an area of 53 square kilometers and has a population of 34000. natural resources
