Xiaocun town

Xiaocun town is under the jurisdiction of Taishun County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Located in the north central part of Taishun County, it is an important market town on the Wentai line. It is adjacent to Fengyang Township in the East, sankui town in the south, xiahong Township in the west, and Xinpu Township in the northeast. It covers an area of 114.58 square kilometers (2017), 39 kilometers away from the county.

Xiaocun Town, with 34 administrative villages and 16810 permanent residents (2017), is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center in the north and central part of Taishun County.

Puppet show

Xiaocun town is one of the birthplaces of Taishun puppet, and puppet play has always been an enduring traditional folk art. In the 21st century, however, Taishun County puppet shows a declining trend, but there are still nearly ten Biandan operas (one of puppet operas) active in Xiaocun and wengshan. every year when the Spring Festival comes, the actors travel back and forth in each village for more than a month. An old artist of Xiaocun Puppet Troupe commented on puppet opera in this way. For more than 30 years, chaitou opera has been an indispensable cultural feast for local villagers.

Wenxingqiao

Wenxing bridge in Kengbian village of Xiaocun Town, across Yuxi, is a timber arch bridge with folded beams. It is 46.2 meters in length, 5 meters in width, 29.6 meters in single span, and 11.5 meters high from the water. It was built in 1857 and rebuilt in 1930. In 1990, villagers raised money to rebuild. In 1988, it was listed as the third batch of cultural relics protection units in Taishun County.

Infrastructure construction

According to the actual situation of urban construction and development, combined with the long-term planning of agriculture and rural modernization, the overall urban planning and village construction planning are improved. Based on the construction of Donglong, Changlong, xinlou, Zhuyuan, xuao, Fenglin, zhangqianlong and other poverty alleviation settlements, more than 1.2 million yuan has been invested to complete the first phase project of Xibin residential district with a total land area of more than 7000 square meters, further improving the urban quality.
